George Gagnidze will debut at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania on October 29, 2024, with his signature role Rigoletto in the first cast of a new production by Leo Nucci and under the musical direction of Jordi Bernàcer. He will sing alongside Enkeleda Kamani as Gilda, Ivan Magrì as Duca di Mantova, Ramaz Chikviladze (Sparafucile), and Elena Belfiore (Maddalena). An additional performance will be on October 31.
Rigoletto is one of George Gagnidze’s most performed role, with over 110 performances under his belt in some of the most prestigious opera houses and festivals, such as Teatro alla Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburg Staatsoper, Festwochen Vienna, Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera, Atlanta Opera, Festival Verdi at the Teatro Regio Parma, and Aix-en-Provence Festival: Next year, Opéra Bastille in Paris will join this impressive list.
The star baritone made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2009 with this opera, singing 25 performances in two productions so far (Otto Schenk and Michael Mayer.)

George Gagnidze returns to the stage of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre to perform the role of Tonio in Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo. Performing in his home city of Tbilisi holds special significance for the Georgian baritone, and Tonio remains one of the defining roles of the Italian Verismo repertoire. With the famous Prologue, Tonio steps forward to address the audience directly and establishes the dramatic framework of the opera.

George Gagnidze is the protagonist of the USA-Georgia Christmas Gala at the Bruno Walter Auditorium in New York on December 17, a festive evening that brings together musical traditions and cultures in the spirit of the season. Organised by Cultural and Educational Foundation Inc., the gala honours the longstanding cultural ties between the United States and Georgia and reflects the Foundation’s mission to celebrate diversity and promote intercultural dialogue.

George Gagnidze will make his Theater Bonn debut in the title role of Nabucco. In the one-off gala performance on December 11, the baritone returns to the part of the Babylonian king conducted by Will Humburg in Roland Schwab’s new production. The cast also features Erika Grimaldi as Abigaille, Derrick Ballard as Zaccaria, Ioan Hotea as Ismaele, Charlotte Quadt as Fenena, Marie Heeschen as Anna, Ralf Rachbauer as Abdallo, and Christopher Jähnig as Il gran sacerdote del Belo.

George Gagnidze is back at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin to reprise his "outstanding Shaklovity" (Opera Now). On November 2, 9, 15, and 23, Claus Guth’s acclaimed staging of Mussorgsky's Khovanshchina returns following its unanimously lauded premiere last year. Timur Zangiev conducts, and George appears alongside Mika Kares, Taras Shtonda, Marina Prudenskaya, Thomas Atkins, Stephan Rügamer, Evelin Novak, Andrei Popov, Anna Samuil, Roman Trekel, Junho Hwang, Johan Krogius, Hanseong Yun, and Friedrich Hamel.
